- Allow each student to share their responses briefly.
2. Topic Introduction (5 minutes):
- Introduce the topic of current events and the importance of staying informed.
- Discuss the role of news and media in society and the benefits of discussing current
affairs in English.
3. Group Discussion: Recent News and Events (15 minutes):
- Divide the class into breakout rooms, ideally with 2-3 students in each room.
- Assign a discussion prompt related to recent news and events. For example:
- "Share a recent news story that caught your attention and explain why it is significant."
- "Discuss an important event happening in your country or around the world and share
your perspective on it."
- Instruct the students to have a conversation within their breakout rooms, taking turns
to share their thoughts and opinions.
4. Breakout Room Activities: Opinions on Current Affairs (15 minutes):
- In the breakout rooms, encourage students to share their opinions on current affairs.
- Suggest activities such as:
- Discussing different viewpoints on a specific news topic and exploring the reasons
behind those perspectives.
- Debating the pros and cons of a recent development or policy.
- Sharing personal experiences or stories related to a current event.
5. Group Sharing and Feedback (10 minutes):
- Bring the students back to the main session.
