You are very excited after being appointed as the new Creative Arts teacher
in the Intermediate Phase Grade 4 to 6.
Mention four characteristics that make a great Creative Arts teacher and
briefly explain each one. (10)
1. Creativity: A great Creative Arts teacher is creative. They should have the
ability to think outside the box, come up with new and innovative ideas, and
inspire their students to do the same. They should be able to create a
stimulating, engaging, and inclusive environment that encourages students to
explore their own creativity and develop their talents.
2. Passion: A great Creative Arts teacher is passionate about the subject they
teach. They should have a deep love and enthusiasm for music, dance, drama,
or art, and be able to share this passion with their students. Their enthusiasm
should be contagious, and should inspire and motivate their students to work
hard and achieve their best.
3. Flexibility: A great Creative Arts teacher is flexible. They should be able to
adapt to changing circumstances, such as unexpected changes in the curriculum,
student behavior, or class size. They should also be open to new ideas and
methods of teaching, and be willing to try new things in order to keep their
students engaged and motivated.
4. Patience: A great Creative Arts teacher is patient. They should be able to
recognize the different learning styles of their students and work with each
student at their own pace. They should be able to provide individual attention
and support to their students, and be patient in guiding their students towards
achieving their goals. They should understand that creativity is a process, and
that it takes time and effort to create something truly great.
