Summarize the concept of missio Dei (missional purpose). Your answer in 100-150 words: “Missio Dei” refers to a Latin theological term which upon translation means God’s mission or God's directing. This concept has become extremely critical in missiology and understanding our mission since the 20 th century. The term Missio Dei was first coined in 1934 by a German missiologist, Karl Hartenstein. However, some scholars believe that the term can be traced back to 1952 by Augustin. In the past 50 years, there has been a significant swing in understanding purpose as God's mission. In the preceding years, the word mission was interpreted mostly in theological terms, such as rescuing human beings
