Europe's Geopolitical Awakening As Churchill once said, men infrequently stumble over the truth, but many pick themselves up and move on as if nothing happened. COVID-19 is one of those instances when the painful truths become hard to evade. The pandemic has left many national governments unprotected from existential threats. Due to these conditions, Europeans hoped to develop co- operative, worldwide solutions to counter high impact, low probability scenarios. The pandemic has pushed the European Union (EU) to face the fact that the structure which assures its security and success is falling apart. For a long period now, Europe has remained geographically inactive since the 1990s. In essence, Europe could be an extraordinary continent, given that it has the largest economy and has approximately 450 million people population. But it has not even come closer to its constituent countries influence and power.
