America grew from a relatively isolationist nation in the mid-19th century to becoming one of the two most powerful nations in the world by the end of World War II and the beginning of the Cold War. For your second papers, I want you to examine American foreign and domestic policies in the early 20th century and answer the following question: How did American foreign policy and engagement in international affairs change between 1876 and 1945? To answer this question, you should consider the diplomatic, wartime, economic, and legal policies of the US and how they changed between the late-19th and mid-20th centuries.
