adultery - a sexual relationship between a couple not married to each other, but
married to others
Homosexuality
A sexual relationship with someone of the same sex
In favour of homosexuality:
– God is all loving - omnibenevolent
– Jesus never directly mentions homosexuality, he mentions more about
robbery and stealing
Against homosexuality:
– God created man and woman for each other
– The ability to have children is not there, which is the whole purpose of
marriage. Sex that doesn’t produce children is wrong. “Do not spill
your seed upon the dusty ground”
– It is forbidden directly in the bible “a man who lies with a man
should be stoned”
– Homosexual people can be together, but not engage in sexual activity
Heterosexuality
A sexual relationships with someone of the opposite sex
Polygamy
the practice of one man having several wives; legal under the shariah law
Contraception
Any method that is used to stop pregnancy whilst having sex
Natural contraception - a method to guard against pregnancy by monitoring a
woman’s fertility cycle
Abstinence - refrain from sexual activity
In favour of contraception:
– Church of England says you should choose how many children you
should have
– Allows you to avoid disease
– Some families may not afford to care for the children
