Jewish Beliefs
Yawm-ad-din - day of judgment. Will occur after the coming of the messiah
Shema - prayer said at the beginning of worship in the evening, jewish
declaration of faith
Olam haze - earthly life

Gan eden - a world of paradise (representative of the garden of eden)
Sheol - place of waiting where souls are cleansed and purified
Gehenna - impure souls go to get cleansed

Constant mitzvot - commandments that must be in the minds of jews
Gemilut Hasidim - to try and carry out good deeds
Pikuach nefesh - saving a human life is much more important than any mitzvot.

Abraham
– He received the first covenant of god
– God instructed Abraham to go the Canaan - said he would get a child
in return
– The covenant is sealed with Abraham’s circumcision
– God promised Abraham would be the father of many nations
Moses
– Led the Jews from slavery in Egypt and whilst leading them away to
Canaan, god made a covenant with him on mount sinai
– God gave Moses the Ten Commandments
– Moses is important as he led the chosen people to the promised land
Mitzvot
– there are 613 mitzvot
– There are 248 good mitzvot and 365 bad mitzvot
