Dynamics is the branch of mechanics concerned with motion and with the effects of forc
a moving body/system.
Based on the system characteristics and its specific operating conditions, the system itsel
undergo:
• Motion in the large (big displacements)
• Vibration (small oscillations about a stable equilibrium position)
• Both at the same time
Modelling a mechanical system means describing it through mathematical equations.
When setting up the dynamic model of a mechanical system, depending on the aim of th
analysis and on the frequency range of interest, the system components can be regarded
RIGID or FLEXIBLE BODIES.
