Task 1 – Explain how the promotional aspect is integrated and used with the whole
marketing mix of a selected organisation to achieve its business aims and objectives

Sainsbury’s would have different marketing aims and objectives and they can achieve
these by using different promotional methods.

In order for Sainsbury’s to raise more awareness, they would use advertising to promote
it. They would use this in a number of ways including social media. Sainsbury’s would use
social media by talking about the latest deals that they have on offer, new collections
and general news. By raising awareness of the brand means that more customers will
hear about them and it can increase footfall and sales for the business. Social media is
an important tool that all organisations should use as a lot of young adults now use this
type of communication. Customers are also able to write feedback for the company and
this could influence people into investing into Sainsbury’s.

The second way that Sainsbury’s uses promotion to raise awareness is by sponsorship.
This means that they are able to gain another companies support and funding. By doing
this means that other customers that may not have thought about investing money into
Sainsbury’s, may have been influenced by another business. If a customer is involved
with the business sponsoring Sainsbury’s, then they could see it as a positive.

Lastly, Sainsbury’s would use direct marketing. This includes sending out emails to
customers which would say about new collections or offers available. This is an effective
way of achieving raising awareness as it gives customers the opportunity to see what
they can purchase. This gives customers product awareness and it can influence them
into investing money into the products offered by Sainsbury’s.

The first aim of Sainsbury’s would be to increase advertising. One way they would
increase advertising is by allowing companies to sponsor their business. The company
sponsoring Sainsbury‘s would provide more money for them to use and this can help
when advertising. If a company such as Sainsbury’s were to be involved with another
company, this would mean that they get twice the amount of advertising. It also means
that when an advertisement is from one company then customers would automatically
connect the two organisations together.

The second way that Sainsbury’s would increase advertising is by sales promotion. By
doing this allows customers to get items for cheaper and it can mean that customers will
have more loyalty towards the brand. By having regular promotions such as Buy One Get
One Free can also help Sainsbury’s to sell off stock that they no longer need and it can
help them to achieve profit.
