English task :
1.Arguments in favor of the British Empire :
- The Britain gave the colonies a better infrastructure & development .
Like better roads and railways etc.
- Thanks to the empire the english language was spread , which made
it possible for all of the people involved to speak one and the same
language (english ) .
- Britain introduced the idea of democracy to its colonies as well as the
law system.
- The Britain brought their school system with them , which improved
the children's education in the colonies .
- Allowed Britain to be more divierced , learning from other cultures
and systems helped them improve their own . They also took over a
couple foreign words making their vocabulary more diverse .
2. Arguments against the British Empire :
- British culture was forced on to the colonists and their actual culture
was banned .
- The economy of the colonies was falling apart because Britain took
most of their profits .
- Africans were slaves and were sold to America .
- The conditions in which the people in the colonies lived were
unbearable .
- The Empire stole the land and resources from the colonies.
- The British Empire forced christanity on to the colonists .
- They brought new diseases with them , causing lots and lots of
people to die .
- A lot of soldiers had to die for the britains , which they would not if the
British Empire did not exist .
- Treated the people in the colonies like they are not human . For
example, they did not allow the Indians to drive first class even if they
were able to (could pay for it ) and equated them with dogs .( Dogs
and Indians not allowed ) .
