Technology use in education has grown throughout the years. Currently, higher education institutions are
going through a surge of technology use since the normal way of teaching and learning has changed
drastically due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, we need to take into considerations the positive and
negative effects that comes with technology use in education, especially with students’ learning.

students' learning is still a matter of debate. In this essay, I will argue that while
technology has positive effects on students' learning, its drawbacks should not be
overlooked. Firstly, technology use can enhance students' engagement and motivation,
and secondly, it can increase access to education. However, technology can also lead to
distractions and a lack of critical thinking skills, and it can have a negative impact on
academic performance. Therefore, it is crucial for educators to carefully consider the
benefits and drawbacks of technology use in education and implement strategies to
mitigate its negative effects.
