, QUESTION 1

Question1.1

Literature and children's literature share similarities and differences in terms of form,
function, and style.

Form:

Both literature and children's literature can take various forms such as novels, short
stories, poetry, and drama. However, children's literature typically includes picture books,
pop-up books, and interactive books that are designed to engage young readers. In
addition, children's literature often incorporates illustrations, which can help convey the
story to children who may not yet have developed strong reading skills.

Function:

The function of literature and children's literature also differs in some respects. While
literature aims to convey complex ideas and emotions to adult readers, children's
literature aims to educate, entertain, and inspire young readers. In particular, children's
literature can help to develop children's imagination, foster empathy, and teach moral
lessons in a way that is accessible to them.

Style:

Literature and children's literature can also differ in their style. Literature often employs
complex and nuanced language and may include elements such as irony, ambiguity, and
symbolism, which can challenge the reader. In contrast, children's literature typically
employs simpler language and more straightforward storytelling. Children's literature
may also include playful language, rhyming, and repetition to engage and entertain
young readers.

In summary, literature and children's literature share similarities in terms of the forms
they can take but differ in terms of their functions and styles. Literature often aims to
convey complex ideas and emotions to adult readers, while children's literature aims to
educate, entertain, and inspire young readers with simpler language and more
straightforward storytelling.
