Nucleophilic Substitution
Chem 2311 is a foundational course in organic chemistry offered at Georgia Tech. The course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the basic principles of organic chemistry, including structure, bonding, nomenclature, and reactivity. The course covers a range of topics, including functional groups, reaction mechanisms, stereochemistry, and spectroscopy. In addition, students will learn about the synthesis and properties of important organic molecules such as carbohydrates, amino acids, and nucleic acids. The course is taught through a combination of lectures, problem sets, and laboratory experiments, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of organic chemistry and preparing them for more advanced courses in the field.
