To achieve the Distinction you will need to
 Choose an Infectious disease

• Research and provide a case study on the organisations involved in preventing the
spread of that disease.

• Evaluate if it is an effective method of preventing the spread of the infectious
disease



 You can choose any of the following given organisations or one of your own:
 NHS, Water aid, Oxfam, Medicine Sans Frontiers, World Health Organisation



 The section ‘Research and provide a case study on the organisations involved in
preventing the spread of that disease.”
Think about the following criteria when writing your case study:
- What methods are in place to prevent the spread of this disease?
- How are these methods carried out?


 “Evaluate if it is an effective method of preventing the spread of the infectious
disease”

 Advantages and disadvantages of the method being used
 Effectiveness (look at data)
 Accessibility for patients ( cost, ease of access)
