Kwalitatieve variabele: Beschrijft een bepaald kenmerk.

Nominaal = Kan niet in volgorde worden gezet. (bijv. geslacht, kleur ogen, geboorteplaats etc.).

Ordinaal = Kan wel in volgorde worden gezet. (bijv. Likertschaal, top 10).

Kwantitatieve variabele: Kan in een getal worden uitgedrukt.

Interval = Heeft duidelijke intervallen (bijv. Jaartallen of geboortejaar etc.).

Ratio = heeft een nulpunt (bijv. leeftijd, geld, gewicht etc.).


Soorten variabele
Afhankelijke variabele: hetgeen wat je wilt onderzoeken.

Onafhankelijke variabele: heeft een mogelijk verband met de uitkomst van de afhankelijke variabele.

Relatieve verdeling: Verhouding waarin waarden op een variabele voortkomen (procentuele
verdeling). Berekening: (frequentie deel / frequentie totaal) x 100%.
