Administer oral meds, topical meds, intramuscular, intradermal, and SubQ injections. RN and LPN. Insert NG tube for Levin suction or gavage feedings; give meds through NG and PEG tubes; Discontinue NG tubes. RN and LPN. Responsible for teaching prior to discharge. RN Reinforce teaching (after RN does initial teaching). LPN Suction/provide ventilator support. (Nurse is expected to know how to manage a client on a ventilator). RN and LPN. Clean trach/Provide O2. RN and LPN. Set up and maintain skin traction. RN and LPN. Insert foley and french catheters; irrigate foley with MD order; and discontinue foley/french catheter. RN and LPN. Taking vital signs (Temp, HR, BP, RR) RN, LPN, UAP/CNA (standard routine care on stable client). Taking vital signs and evaluating them. RN and LPN. Wound care: perform decubitus care; cast care; and sterile dressing changes. RN and LPN. Performing fingerstick glucose checks. RN and LPN. In the NCLEX world, nursing assistants CANNOT do this.
