The Politics of the American Founding
This set of notes covers the politics of the American founding, including the split from England, the Declaration of Independence, "all men are created equal," the Articles of Confederation, the Constitutional Convention, and the debate over how much power the federal government should have. The Virginia Plan, the New Jersey Plan, and the Great Compromise are discussed, as well as the debate between large states and small states. The notes also discuss who the founders were and their views on federalism.
