Quiz 1

GC: General Conditions: Standardized provisions, define code of conduct, expectation between parties.
A significant piece will remain standard, generally acceptable industry wide.
SC: Supplementary Conditions/Special Conditions: Address the uniqueness, amend or change the GC
which is universally applied.
Construction specifications in conjunction with Construction drawings, read two together
testing and inspectionthe desired level of quality from that material. -> can get from drawings but
elementary/more specific details like fire rating, hardware, software, what test doesn’t have to pass,
timber, what wood do you need. Cannot be graphically be present

All of them.
Lecture script: Scope of work: drawings & technical specifications. Need both.
But I think the general conditions, construction drawings and technical specifications are correct answer.
General Condition: General conditions are all of those items that will not form part of the actual
product, once the project has been finalized. The items included under the general conditions are all of
those tools, resources, and equipment needed to build a project, but not directly related to the physical
construction activities, and that you can be entitled to be compensated for. This list includes
descriptions of some of the most common items you can include in your construction costs.
For example, pre-development fee, utilities, vehicles, office trailers, etc.

,I think the last one is not correct because the contractor will provide the unit rate for BOF.
Option 1: Once a contract is signed, the bill of quantities can be used to create payment applications as
the work progresses. The contractor notes the quantities completed each month on the form and
multiplies it by the price for each item to get the invoice amount.
Option 2: Correct
Option 3: Once prepared, the BOQ is given to contractors to provide pricing for the project. Because the
materials and quantities are already given, this allows them to focus on pricing instead of doing takeoffs.
After its complete, the pricing is returned to the owner for review and contractor selection.
Option 4: Start preparing a bill of quantities by breaking the work down into items that can be quantified
or measured. This breakdown is often based on standard work breakdown structures, like CSI codes. The
breakdown works best when it’s organized by subcontractor packages, which makes it easier for general
contractors to bid the work.
The list of work items includes a short description, the quantity, and the unit of measure. From there,
the contractor prices the work listed on the bill of quantities, based on the drawings and specifications
they have been provided.

B
The BOQ does not have the unit rate.

, It can be amended during the construction phase

A shop drawing is a drawing or set of drawings produced by the contractor, supplier, manufacturer,
subcontractor, consultants, or fabricator. Shop drawings are typically required for prefabricated
components
It is usually prepared by the sub-trade and manufacturer after the bidding is awarded.

Offer: the statement of terms and conditions to which the offeror is willing to be bound.
Acceptance: Willingness to abide by the essential terms and conditions of the contract.
Consideration: Each party must provide something of value to exchange with the other(does not have to
be money)
