Compare and contrast mitosis and meiosis. ” Meiosis: creates gametes, ends with four non-identical cells haploid, goes through PMAT twice Mitosis: creates body cells, ends with two identical diploid cells Similarities: involved in making new cells, start with diploid, both go through PMAT, interphase occurs during both, cytokinesis follows both ”3. Cancer is a disease related to uncontrolled cell division. Investigate two known causes for these rapidly dividing cells and use this knowledge to invent a drug that would inhibit the growth of cancer cells. ” There is a higher chance for someone with a weak immune system for bacteria and viruses to enter the body, which results in the growth of toxic cells. HPV, when unnoticed can lead to cervical cancer. Therefore, a drug that controls the HPV virus can decrease the growth of cancer cells.
