General Discussion:
• This involves describing diagrams that depict a map of one
area.
• Some WT1 give 1 map diagram, some give 2 or 3 maps.
• Although there are no numbers, years are usually given.
Therefore, the years or the adverb of time determine the
tenses you should use to describe each map.
• We ignore the human subjects. In other words, we do not
mention who is involved in maps. Therefore, passive voice
sentences are mostly used.
, Different Kinds of Map Question
There are three main types of map question:
1. Describe one map in the present or past. (VERY RARE)
2. Describe two maps – both in the past
3. Describe two maps- one in the present and one in the future.
4. Describe two maps- one in the past and one in the present.
5. Describe three maps – three in the past.
6. Describe three maps – two in the past, one in the present.
7. Describe three maps – one in the past, one in the present, one in the future.
In case you have forgotten about the passive voice.
Passive Voice
• When you translate the verb to Bahasa, it uses “di-“ or “ter-“.
• Always uses to-be verbs + past participle (Verb 3)
In Present Simple: In Present Perfect:
“Plural Subject + are + Past “Subject + has/have + been +
Participle (Verb 3)” or Past Participle (Verb 3)”
“Singular Subject + is + Past
Participle (Verb 3)” e.g:
e.g: To the south of the hospital, a new car
The city hospital is located inside the park for public visitors has been built.

In Past Simple: In Future Simple”
“Plural Subject + are +Past “Subject + will be + Past
Participle (Verb 3)” or Participle (Verb 3)”
