Learning Objec#ves Our goal is to find an experiment model for the rela!onship between the release height and the final velocity for an object sliding down a fric!onless ramp. We will use that rela!onship to figure out a rela!onship between velocity and kine!c energy. ! Ge$ng Started The video below shows a descrip!on of the apparatus we'll be using, a superconduc!ng puck and a magne!c track. The puck is cooled to -196C in a liquid nitrogen bath. Then the puck is placed above the track, held in posi!on by a wood spacer. Through a process called "quantum locking" the puck remains the same height above the track. The puck can move along the track with virtually no fric!on. Watch the short video below to familiarize yourself with this apparatus. Video instance not printed.
