Comparison of the team roles in the team
In this part of the task I will go on to write about the team members and what the team
has done, what their role consisted of and then I will compare their role to the other team
members and I will also asses their performance in the team and how their role affected the
team.

Firstly I will identify what types of team roles there are, their strengths and weaknesses and
a common attribute that comes with the roles.

1. Resource investigator – These type of team members often use their inquisitive
nature to find ideas to bring back to the team
 Strength: Outgoing, enthusiastic. Explores opportunities and develops
contacts
 Weakness: Might be over-optimistic, and can lose interest once the initial
enthusiasm has passed
 Common Fact: They might forget to follow up on a lead

2. Team Worker – Help the team to gel, using their versatility to identify the work
required and complete it on behalf of the team
 Strength: Co-operative, perceptive and diplomatic. Listens and averts
friction
 Weakness: Can be indecisive in crunch situations and tends to avoid
confrontation
 Common Fact: They might be hesitant to make unpopular decisions
3. Co-ordinator – Needed to focus on the team's objectives, draw out team members
and delegate work appropriately
 Strength: Mature, confident, identifies talent. Clarifies goals.
 Weakness: Can be seen as manipulative and might offload their own share
of the work
 Common Fact: They might over-delegate, leaving themselves little work to
do
4. Plant – Tend to be highly creative and good at solving problems in unconventional
ways
 Strength: Creative, imaginative, free-thinking, generates ideas and solves difficult
problems

communicate effectively
