Introduction:
In this task I shall be preparing and describing how the internet is used by selected
contrasting business.
Blackberry:
The first BlackBerry device, the 850, was introduced in 1999 as a two-way pager in Munich,
Germany. The name BlackBerry was coined by the marketing company Lexicon Branding. The name
was chosen due to the resemblance of the keyboard's buttons to that of the drupelets that compose
the blackberry fruit. Many BlackBerry retail stores operate outside North America, such as in
Thailand, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, and Mexico. In December 2007 a BlackBerry Store
opened in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The store offers BlackBerry device models from AT&T, T-
Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint, the major U.S. carriers which offer smartphones. There were three prior
attempts at opening BlackBerry stores in Toronto and London (UK) but they eventually folded. There
are also BlackBerry Stores operated by Wireless Giant at airports in Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte,
Minneapolis-St. Paul, Philadelphia, Houston, and Newark, but several have been slated for closing.
How does blackberry use the internet?
Blackberry uses the internet as a platform blackberry link not only connects the customer to the
company directly without any mediator or distributor, but also creates a feel of authenticity and
ownership of any media or application bought from the store.
Also blackberry does not uses internet only to offer a platform where you have access to all the
music that you want but also to keep its customers informed about their current products, offers,
upcoming products and etc.
Aston martin:
Aston Martin Lagonda Limited is a British manufacturer of luxury sports cars. It was founded in 1913
by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. The firm became associated with luxury grand touring cars in
the 1950s and 1960s, and with the fictional character James Bond following his use of a DB5 model
in the 1964 film Goldfinger. The company has had a chequered financial history, including
bankruptcy in the 1970s, but has also enjoyed long periods of success and stability, including under
the ownership of David Brown, from 1947 to 1972 and of the Ford Motor Company from 1994 to

Aston martin primarily uses the internet to show off and promote their luxuries premium priced
sports cars to their customers and also sell clothing, accessories such as wallets, gifts, collectables
such as old toy models of vintage Aston martin cars, luggage and vehicle accessories. They use the
internet to provide customer with updates on upcoming products and current products and provide
a lot of options for customer to choose from when purchasing a car such as the design or colour.
Sony Corporation:
Sony Corporation commonly referred to as Sony, is a Japanese multinational conglomerate
corporation headquartered in Kōnan Minato, Tokyo, Japan. Its diversified business is primarily
focused on the electronics, game, entertainment and financial services sectors. The company is one
of the leading manufacturers of electronic products for the consumer and professional markets.
Sony is ranked 87th on the 2012 list of Fortune Global 500.
How does Sony use internet?
Sony uses the internet to provide customer with updates on upcoming products and current
products and provide a lot of options for customer to choose from when purchasing.
Sony’s vision is to give consumers easy, ubiquitous access to entertainment and information
anytime, anywhere – no matter whether the content comes from cable, satellite, terrestrial,
packaged media, just by using the internet.
Asda:
Asda Stores Ltd. is a British supermarket chain which retails food, clothing, general merchandise,
toys and financial services. It also has a mobile phone network (via the EE network as of 25
November 2013), Asda Mobile. Its head office is at Asda House in Leeds, West Yorkshire. In 1999,
Asda became a subsidiary of the American retail company Wal-Mart and today is the UK's third
largest chain by market share. Asda's marketing promotions are usually based solely on price, with
Asda promoting itself under the slogan Britain's Lowest Priced Supermarket, 16 Years Running. As a
wholly owned division of Wal-Mart, Asda is not required to declare quarterly or half-yearly earnings.
