NR 511 Week 3: Clinical Case Study Part One DiscussionGood evening professor and class. A 19-year-old male patient arrives to the clinic with a chief complaint of bilateral eye discomfort. Patient reports a feeling of sand in his eyes. He also complains of sensation feeling gritty in his bilateral eyes. The onset of symptoms started 2 to 3 days ago. He describes the pain as feeling moderate and rates his pain 2/10. He denies both aggravating and relieving factors at this time. However, he reports using OTC Visine drops yesterday that provided no relief of sensations but was effective in diminishing the redness. Three differential diagnosis for chief complaint Allergic Conjunctivitis-is caused from allergens. The mucosa conjunctival contains mast cells and IgE which are antibodies that are attached to the cell surface by receptors. The host then is revealed to the environmental allergen. This causes allergens to bind together with the IgE and the mast cell to cause an intertangle of molecules and transmission after degranulation of the cells. In return, inflammatory intermediaries cause the clinical manifestation, (Mashige, P., 2017). 1) Allergic Conjunctivitis 2) Allergic Rhinitis 3) Viral Conjunctivitis
