How do you upload this assessment?
Read the assessment questions, once you are ready to
post your Assessment, click “Reply” at the bottom right-hand side of your screen. Type

Document, and copy and paste your assessment into the message box. When you are

Task 2
It has been debated that each one of us has a specific identity that needs to be
preserved in order for us to tolerate each other linguistically. Which also mean we need
to adhere to the basic human needs for the conservation of identity, adaptation, and
reproduction. Remembering that in South Africa we have a diversity of cultures, 11
official languages, different religions and races, this is what makes South Africa a peculiar
rainbow nation. Based on the above statement and what you learned in Unit 1 answer
the following questions.
1. Who are you, where do you come from and what is your mother tongue? (6)
2. Having grown up with an understanding of different South African languages.
What is the language of your heart and why? (3)
1. Does our language diversity affect how we see each other? Elaborate and
give an example. (6)
1. Within AFL1501 and UNISA, how do you want people to see and perceive
you, and how can you assist an individual to perceive you that way? (5)
