¬ Blood vessel: artery, vein, capillary.
¬ Arteries: Carry oxygenated blood away from the heart. {except
pulmonary A}
¬ Veins: Carry deoxygenated blood to the heart. {except
pulmonary V}
¬ Capillaries: connect arteries and veins. {Tiniest blood vessel}
¬ Blood: Red blood capsule {RBC}; White blood capsule {WBC};
Blood platelets.
Plays role in immune
system.

External structure of the heart:
➢ The heart consists of cardiac
muscle.
➢ It lies in a cavity called the
mediastinum and is protected by
a tough membrane called the
pericardium.
➢ The apex of the heart is the left
ventricle and is directed towards
the left.
