Applying Research Skills
This document outlines the steps in creating and choosing resources and enhancing research skills. The document includes an annotated bibliography, how to assess the credibility and relevance of information to sources, how to identify academic peer-reviewed journals, and apply what you have learned from the resources. E.g., In assessing the credibility and relevance of my information sources, I filtered my searches to peer-reviewed journal articles. I adjusted the dates in the filter section to confirm the article was published within the past 5 years. I scanned the articles before selecting them to safeguard relevance to my topic. I sought out articles that had a well-defined purpose, including the evidence needed for healthcare disparities. Lastly, I selected articles published by authors who had vast professional knowledge and experience relevant to healthcare.
