– Contraindicated in active liver disease
– May cause rhabdomyolysis
– Monitor renal function
– Monitor serum cholesterol before treatment and 4 weeks after starting therapy
– Monitor LFTs
– Instruct patient to report muscle weakness (sign of rhabdomyolysis)
