Life is a roller-coaster, so it is obvious I have encountered a lot of ups and downs in my life. The
worst nightmare was anxiety and depression. In 2021, I felt lost because of the political situation in
Myanmar. Some of my friends flew to other countries to study because their parents could afford it.
To admit, I did not even search a single word about scholarships at that time. When I saw others
trying their best, it made me feel ashamed and disappointed. I supposed the whole world favoured
everyone except me. I indeed caught up in an abyss of emotions. But when I reevaluated the
motivational phrases I read, I spoke to myself, “Oh Right, this is not the end. I can try as long as
I’m alive”. I read books on self-improvement and positive quotes to raise my mental status. I also
realised that “If not now, when? If not me, then who?”. Then I gained the strength and energy to
become fearless. Another positive consequence is I am now capable of viewing things as they are,
especially with a positive mindset. At the same time, I joined some volunteering activities and even
paid internships, which is a blessing since it helps me stand out. So, even though I am not studying
abroad currently, I believe that it is my divine time to sculpt the best of me. The event led me to
look before I leap. I suppose everything happens for a reason. Being lost in depression and anxiety
caused me to transform into a new person who knows herself well. Because of this incident, I
believe that I am strong enough to tackle any future conditions. The energetic mindset and
hardworking skills are my best companions, so I am ready to fight for my life.
