Vessel which return the blood back to atrium
• The walls of veins are thin.
• The luminal diameters of veins are
large.
• Have venous valves, that facilitate
blood flow toward the heart.
• Artery - branch; vein - tributary

immediately under the skin, and forms venous rete
• Deep veins－run with arteries, large veins are usually
single, medium-sized peripheral limb veins are often
double, forms venous plexus around the viscera
