MODULE 1.1 : INLEIDING TOT REKENAARS

Wat is ‘n rekenaar?
• 'n Algemene tipe rekenaar is die tafelrekenaar wat jy gewoonlik in kantore, besighede en
skoolrekenaarlaboratoriums vind.
• Al hierdie rekenaars is veeldoelig en kan dus as hulpmiddels gebruik word om ons te help om
'n wye verskeidenheid take beter en vinniger te voltooi.
• Hulle is ook elektroniese toestelle (werk met batterye).

Hardeware en sagteware
• Ons verwys na die fisiese dele van 'n rekenaar wat ons kan aanraak en as hardeware
(apparatuur) beskou.
• Om die rekenaar iets nuttig te laat doen, moet ons dit baie spesifieke instruksies gee.
• Hierdie instruksies is wat ons ken as programme of sagteware (programmatuur).
• 'n Ander woord wat algemeen geword het vir 'n spesifieke program, is “app” (toepassing).
• Dit is die vermoë van jou rekenaar om verskillende soorte programme uit te voer.

Die Inligtingsverwerkingsiklus
• Rekenaars ontvang insette- gewoonlik vanaf die sleutelbord of die muis, verwerk dit) en lewer
dan 'n vorm van uitvoer.

• Data is onverwerkte items (teks, beelde, klank en video).

• As jy jou rekenaar aanskakel, sal jy uiteindelik die werkskerm sien.
• Dit is die eerste basiese “skerm” van die bedryfstelsel.




Grafiese gebruikerskoppelvlak (GUI)
• Alle moderne sagteware maak gebruik van 'n grafiese gebruikerskoppelvlak of GUI.
• Dit stel gebruikers in staat om met die rekenaar te kommunikeer en keuses te maak deur
gebruik te maak van grafiese elemente soos ikone en teëls.
