Bijkomend zit er ook een overzicht van de meest gebruikte commando's voor de besproken concepten bij. Hiermee kan je de opdrachten in Packet Tracer zeker en vast tot een goed einde brengen! 1.1 Wired LAN Design
1.1.1 Nood Aan Scaling
Wanneer netwerken uitbreiden, moeten ze steeds volgende zaken blijven ondersteunen:
• Meer applicaties hebben een betrouwbaar netwerk nodig om goed te kunnen
functioneren
• Op het netwerk moet er veel verschillende soorten verkeer werken
• Netwerk is essentieel voor veel bedrijven om te functioneren
• Voor de netwerkbeheerder is het belangrijk om een overzicht te houden en om
gecentraliseerde controle te hebben
Om deze zaken te kunnen realiseren, wordt het netwerk vaak opgesplitst in verschillende
lagen.


1.1.2 Network Layers




De acces layer bevat de eindgebruikers. Deze connectie kan vaak draadloos zijn. De
connectie van de acces switches naar de andere apparaten zal echter wel altijd bedraad zijn.
Enkele typische zaken voor de acces layer zijn:
• Port security
• VLAN’s
• Snelheden: Fast Ethernet / Gigabit Ethernet
• Andere zaken: Power Over Ethernet, Link Aggregation en Qualtiy of Service
De distribution layer zorgt ervoor dat alle devices zo snel mogelijk met elkaar contact
kunnen maken. Enkele belangrijke zaken voor de distribution layer zijn:
• Layer 3 support: (inter-VLAN) routing & broadcastcontainment
• Hoge forwarding snelheid
• Snelheden: Gigabit Ethernet / 10Gigabit Ethernet
• Redundancy: alternatief pad voorzien
• Security: ACL’s
• Andere zaken: Link Aggregation, Qualtiy of Service
