Unit 8- Task 3 Resub

P5, P6, P7, M3

, P5- Plan an activity/ creative activity that is appropriate for a group of children or young people in
health and social care settings.

I am now going to layout the plan that I created for the activity that I completed with the children
whilst I was on placement.

Name Laura Palmer
Age of children 3 months- 2 years
Title of the activity that I carried out Christmas or winter cards
Description of the activity that I carried out I helped the children to decorate their snow
globes that were going to be glued onto their
cards.
Reason for the activity The reason for the activity was to create cards
to send home to children’s family for Christmas
or winter, for children who did not celebrate
Christmas.
What I wanted to achieve from the activity I wanted the children to develop their fine
motor skills by using the pincer grasp to hold a
glue spatula.
Learning outcome The learning outcome for the activity was to
create cards for the children’s families. It
helped children to develop their fine and gross
motor skill.
Process that I used to complete the activity I worked one-on-one with a child when
applying the paint, glue, and glitter to finish. To
begin with we made paper snow globes.
Resources that I used I used paper, card, paint dabbers, normal paint,
for snow globe. Glue and glitter were used for
the card. The children also needed to be
supervised to ensure that they were safe, so
that they did not put any small objects into
their mouths. Chairs were also low to the floor,
so that the children could reach the items that
they wanted to use. I also had a supervisor with
me when completing the activity as I had to
have someone who was first aid trained with
me. I also worked one-on-one with the children
to ensure that they had the support they
needed, and I could also ensure that they were
safe better than what I could have if I was
working with more children.
How I could change the activity to include all I could change the activity by ensuring that
the children some children could have more support if they
needed it, and this usually depended on the
age and stage of development for the child. I
would change this activity for a child awaiting a
sensory diagnosis, by ensuring I had a paper
towel to wipe glue off the child’s hands. I also
changed the activity to meet a child’s religious
needs. The child did not celebrate Christmas, as
it was not part of his religion. Therefore, to
