, Abstract
With the PIC16F690 microcontroller acting as the brain of the system, the data logger was designed and
tested. The purpose of this data logger in summary was to store, retrieve temperature and humidity
values in the EEPROM of the microcontroller and display on the 20X4 LCD Display. Other
functionalities included monitoring of a battery of the system using Buzzer to warm the user of lower
battery consumption, a fan (DC motor) and a heater (Red LED) to monitor the temperature if it goes
beyond the desired thresholds. This system is very cost efficient, user friendly and does not require a
lot of power consumption but at the same time can store important information that can be used for
analysis in different industry applications. There were some calibrations that were done in the
measurement of temperature and humidity in order to achieve the average behavior of the system.
Several tests were done according to the specifications and the results were as expected.
