Romantic Relationship: Inspiration or Distraction to Students

Introduction

Every person has the habit of wanting to learn or experience new things, in other
word it is called curiosity and people mostly curious about love. It could say, that is it a topic
that most of the people could relate to. For instance, when a teacher talks about love most of
the student participate and even talks about like an expert. But what is love anyway? Some
says love is definitely one of the most powerful feelings that most people can ever
experience in their lives, some says it is the most spectacular indescribable deep euphoric
feeling for someone and some says love is a feeling of strong or constant affection for a
person or some teenage years says, it is when your crush, crushes you back.

Nevertheless every person has their own definition and perspective about love
depends on what they have experienced. Love is a universal topic; it could be in a research, a
song, a poem, a novel, a short story, a drama or even a movie. Furthermore, according to the
ancient Greek there are eight types of love and one of those is Eros or romantic love
(https://www.lifehack.org/816195/types-of-love) that leads to romantic relationship of a
person to another person. But what is the main reason why do people enter romantic
relationship especially the students? Does it make you less human if you did not enter
romantic relationship?

Body

Nowadays, adolescents are very aggressive, willing to take risks and wanting to try
something new. And one of those is entering romantic relationships and according to the
national longitudinal study of adolescent health states that 25% of 12 years old, almost 50%
of 15 years old and 70% of 18 years old are involve in romantic relationship (Ellis & Dumas,
2018). And the fact that it is common for adolescent to constantly using technology to meet
and talk new people that sometimes it is also the reason why romance between two people
begins.

Every person takes an action and every action there is a certain reason just like
entering romantic relationship. And one of those, of course, emotional reason which is likely

, common to be the cause for many relationships wherein both partners love each other or
have mutual feelings for each other. In addition, humans are social animals; they need
someone to share their pain, tears and joy with someone they are comfortable with. In other
words, this relationship is simply an emotional attachment to each other.

Another one is financial reason, indeed, it is often giving is more from the other
person and such relationship usually lasts a while because the fact that the other one is still
holding on. Such relationship might be exciting when one is the receiving part but much
disappointment when one is the giving part especially when nothing is received in the first
place. However, relationship has the essence if both parties support each other.

One more reason is replacement reason; this is also called rebound relationship, this
type of relationship is when either or both of the parties enter into a relationship just for the
purpose of replacing the former partner who left. The reason for this because most people
find it difficult to be alone, especially when they have to battle through the emotional trauma
of losing a partner. In addition, this might be unhealthy or healthy it depends in the purpose.

And the last reason is tasting reasons, this is when either or both of the parties enter
into relationship just for fun of it; purposely to taste or experience the so called romantic
relationship. Furthermore, this often happens to the adolescents who want to try something
new and the fact that they are exposed to over and over romantic stories from movies and
television to the point that they also want to try it.

There are two side of the coin, like romantic relationship it has also two sides one is
the negative and the other one is the positive. According to Joshuaelevate cited by Trajano
(2018)

Years after years, there is one question about romantic relationship. Is it a distraction
or inspiration to students?

Humans are curious to every new thing they encounter, that is why feasibility study
exists. Many researches about romantic relationship

In today’s generation, 70% of the students age 18 describe being in a relationship as
especially romantic (Huggins, 2015).
