History Canada was originally found by the
French and colonised by them. After
the French and Indian War in 1763 the
country was in the hands of the Brits.
This is one of the reasons why the
language of Canada nowadays still is
French and English.

900.000 inhabitants. 50,9% of the
inhabitants speaks English and 32,6%
speaks French as mother tongue.
Toronto Biggest city of Canada and capital of
province Ontario. Toronto is economical
centre of Canada and most important
city when you look to finance,
telecommunication, media, and
medical science.
Vancouver Is a city in Canada and is named after
the English captain George Vancouver.
In 2005 it was one of the most
expensive cities in Canada, after
Toronto.
Quebec Capital of the province Quebec.
Montreal Biggest city of the province Quebec
and after Toronto the biggest city of
Canada. Montreal is located on an
island in the river Saint Lawrence. The
city was founded in 1642 by the French
as a part of their colony.
Rocky Mountains Also called the Rockies. It a series of
mountains in the West of North-
America. It has a length of 4800 km
from New Mexico through the VS up to
Canada and Alaska. It is a popular
holiday destination for campers,
fishermen, hunters, hikers, skiers.
Saint Lawrence River It is a big river in the Saint Lawrence
climate zone of North-America. The
river was named by Jacques Cartier,
who was the first European to sail on
this river. He named it after the holy
Saint Lawrence, because he sailed on
the river on his holy day, August 10th.
Niagara Falls Are the most well-known waterfalls of
the world. It consists of 3 parts: The
Horseshoe Falls, The American Falls
and the Bridal Veil Falls. They are
