In this exercise I’m showing the scale of the UK aviation industry, passenger, cargo, financial and
employment. It’s wider than only the airport, because it’s also airlines, domestic flights and
international. In a lot of these table you see MPPA typed this means million passengers per annum.
Top 5: MPPA by UK airport
As you can see in the table the top 5 are the most out of total MMPA UK, meaning if it weren’t for
those five it would have been a lot less. They have all together 67,85 percent of total airlines and if
one of those are gone it might not be the worst, but if they all were gone that’s where the problem
starts, because it’s too much to handle for the remaining ones. I used the numbers from 2018 mppa
is terminal passengers. The United Kingdom has 39 additional airports.

you can see in sources the total passenger services given by all the airlines are 12 233 321. If you
make the top 5 UK airlines a percentage from all the airlines you have 88,3 % that’s a lot. May it
happen that five are gone it’s impossible to place passenger services by other smaller UK airlines.
Meaning 11, 7 % flies with the remaining 21 airlines from the UK.

top 5 airlines Domestic flights from the total (1,620,969) of all domestic scheduled services in 2018
December. You can see that the most were from Flybe LTD, Easyjet UK LTD and British Airways PLC,
because number 4 and 5 are also a lot but if they weren’t there it wouldn’t be the worst thing but the
others have a more impact. 11 airlines for domestic flights and 5 of those are the top 5, so 5 % is the
remaining 6 airlines for domestic flights.

Airways PLC has a lot of international flights it would become a big problem if something were to
happen. Where would all of those international flights go? You can look at the numbers and think
Easyjet UK LTD has less international flights they have more ‘’room’’, but that also means less
resources to carry out that many international flights. Here again 11 airlines for international flights
in total. The top 5 is 94, 32% meaning the remaining 6 airlines is 5,68%.

Total of top 5 UK international destinations together is 4. 895. 862 which is 31, 48 % from total of
international destinations ( 15. 552. 276). Surprising enough it doesn’t sound a lot, but knowing that
there are over a hundred countries flying to and from the UK the top 5 having 31, 48% is a lot. If
, these top 5 countries went missing you’ll be missing a big chunk of international air passenger traffic
to and from the UK which is not good for the business at all.

Top 5 UK cargo services from 2018 meaning in the table you see the top 5 cargo services. Cargo
services are goods/ products that are delivered by aircraft. This is very important, because many
organisations use this to deliver their goods/ products selling for another organisation.
These are from the United Kingdom the total is 27 695 and the top 5 cargo services are all together is
27 650. In the sources table (link) you can see there aren’t that many cargo services so it’s not weird
that the top 5 is so high. It’s 99,83 % the smallest from the top 5 is Titan Airways and the biggest is
Cargologicair LTD that one can’t stop it’s the most important cargo service from the UK. If the UK
loses the biggest cargo service many organisations wouldn’t be too happy about that and it wouldn’t
look good for the UK cargo services. 7 cargo services in the UK total and 5 of those are at the top,
