Part 2: common errors.
1.Lend/borrow.
Lend means you give. It is a verb.
Example: You should not lend your book to Sally.
Borrow means you take. It is also a verb.
Example: May I borrow your pen?
2. There, their, they're.
There- A place.
Example: Can I please sit there?
Their- Shows ownership of something.
Example: This is their car.
They're- The contracted form of "they are".
Example: They're all going to the dance on Friday.
3. Where, were, we're, wear.
Where- A place. Usually in a question sentence.
Example: Where does Sally live?
Were- Is the plural past tense of the verb "are".
Example: We were watching a movie.
We're- The contracted form of "we are".
Example: We're going to be late for the dance.
Wear- Clothing that you wear.
Example: I have nothing to wear for work today.
4. Of, Off.
