•bipolar, unipolar, multipolar, psuedo-unipolar
SCALP - 5 layers of scalp
•Skin, Connective tissue, Aponeurosis, Loose connective/areolar tissue, Periosteum. Bone
AMPI - alveolar nerve supply in mouth
•Anterior Superior Alv N, Middle Superior Alv N, Posterior Superior Alv N, Inferior Alv N

•Insula (gustatory), Frontal (motor), Parietal (somatosensory), Occipital (visual), Temporal (auditory)
Nerves:
NERVE MOVEMENT
Trigeminal (CN V)
CN V1 (Sensory branch nerves of ophthalmic division)
- Frontal nerve (./. supraorbital,
supratrochlear nerves)
- Lacrimal nerve (lachrymal gland,
part of upper eyelid)
- Nasociliary nerve (most complex
opth. Nerve, nasal branches & ciliary
(eyeball) branches)
CN V3 (auriculotemporal branch supplies front of ear)
- Front of ear
- External surface of tympanic
membrane
- Innervates tensor tympani muscle
(dampens movements of ossicles)
, CN I (olfactory nerve) Sensory nerve, sense of smell
CN II (optic nerve) Optic nerve
Cn III (oculomotor nerve) Eye movement (motor innvervation)
Cn IV (trochlear nerve) CN III – Carries Parasymp. Fibres; supplies
Cn VI (Abducens nerve) muscles of ciliary body, constrictor of pupil
CN IV – supplies superior oblique muscle
CN VI – supplies lateral rectus muscle
Facial Nerve CN VII (auditory) Branch in middle ear = Chorda
tympanic nerve
Supplies stapedius muscle in middle ear
(dampens movement of ossicles)
Enters skull together w. CN VIII through
internal auditory meatus
CN VIII (vestibulocochlear nerve) Cochlear nerve (half of vestibulocochlear
Sensory nerve nerve): termination of spiral ganglia in inner
ear
Vestibular nerve:
superior – info from lateral and superior
ampulla (semicirc canal) & utricle
Inferior – info from posterior ampulla
(semicirc canal) & saccule (otolith organ)
Enters skull through internal auditory
meatus
CN IX (glossopharyngeal) Innervates internal surface of tympanic
membrane (side closest to middle ear)
Tympanic plexus (fibres from CN IX)
innervates pharyngotympanic tube)
CN X (vagus nerve) Parasympathetic fibres
CN XI (accessory nerve) Somatic motor function
CN XII (hypoglossal nerve) Tongue
Great Auricular nerve Supplies back of ear
