Assimilation and Synthesis: Content Reflection Learning From Experiences  Revisit the goals and objectives from your Practicum Experience Plan. Explain the degree to which you achieved each during the practicum experience. A. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to improve clinical practice in mental health settings: I feel I still need to improve in this subject. B. Identifies ethical and legal dilemmas with possible resolutions: This topic is still difficult. Some young adolescence leaves the house, and the parents want our assistance to help them. It is 1 This study source was downloaded by from CourseH on :12:22 GMT -05:00 hard to see the patient is missing without any information. Sometimes, we only can refer the patients to seek policeman department for help. C. Recognizing clinical signs and symptoms of psychiatric illness: I can recognize and familiar myself more with the patients’ symptoms and psychiatric complaints. It does not take a long time like before to do the differential reasoning or diagnosis. D. Performing and interpreting a comprehensive and/or interval history and physical examination (including laboratory and diagnostic studies): It is so important to order the correct test and lab work to evaluate the patients’ current health conditions. I will take time to evaluate these data.  Reflect on the three (3) most challenging patients you encountered during the practicum experience. What was most challenging about each? A. One patient has a severe workload and responsibilities. However, he is so depressed, has insomnia, and with suicidal thoughts. We cannot persuade him to go to ER that day. When he showed up a month later, he is much better with his family’s help. B. The young girl is so depressed and does not want to talk during the therapy section. However, after communication and encouragement, she started to take medication. Her mother and the young girl have more understanding with each other after the therapist’s involvement. Sometimes, we can see better from other people’s points of view. C. The patient has alcohol intoxication, he was provided with intensive medications and basic needs support. His mind becomes clearer, he even can say thank you and uses respectful language. In beginning, he speaks dirty words, and he is incontinent in bowel movements and urination.  What did you learn from this experience? Human beings’ thoughts and behaviors are complicated, and we need to take time to heal the deficit and provide them support when they have difficulties.  What resources did you have available? I use the DSM-5 and professional journals. Sometimes, my preceptor can provide me with some insights if I ask him. The evidence-based journal and research papers are important.  What evidence-based practice did you use for the patients? 2 This study source was downloaded by from CourseH on :12:22 GMT -05:00 I use a lot of journals to study the patient’s insight, judgment, thought process, and behaviors. The professional journals are helpful for statistics and large data for research purposes.  What new skills are you learning? Active listening and providing adequate opinions and solutions. Most of the time, it is not going to help the patient at one time. It needs time and energy to adjust one patient’s disorder. However, the knowledge and persistent interventions will overcome the difficulties.  What would you do differently? There is always another intervention better than what we provide now. We must adjust our steps to the new world, and provide new APPs, supportive groups, and medications to our patients.  How are you managing patient flow and volume? Detailed documentation and focus notes are essential. It provides me to review the
