Outcomes for assignment 01
• To analyse the NCS and thereby have a better understanding of the NCS
Consumer Studies and thus more effectively teach the content of the curriculum
• To understand the role of the teacher and apply these in Consumer
Studies teaching
• To apply the content of the Consumer Studies curriculum to design
lesson plans to teach Consumer Studies in a secondary school.

1.1 Summarise the main points in section 1, 2 and 4 of the National Curriculum
Statement - Consumer Studies (15 marks) and discuss how section 3
equips the teacher in his/her role as interpreter and designer of learning
programmers and materials to instruct Consumer Studies (30 marks)
