What is it like to be assessed? For this Discussion, you take the role of a client and experience
taking the Mini Mental State Exam (MMSE). As you go through this experience, consider what it
feels like to be assessed, and to be a client. You will also complete the Jung Typology Test and
reflect on your results. You will post your reflections and insights.
To Prepare:
Review the Mini Mental State Exam (MMSE) video program in the Learning Resources
for this week.
Complete the Mini Mental Status Exam on blank paper by responding as if you are the
client. Record all your answers.
Retrieve the Folstein Scoring Sheet from this week's resources and score your answers,
noting that you actually completed two tasks that were similar, (i.e., math and spelling
(maximum possible score of 5 for each section). You are to use the higher of those two
sections to include inthe total score.
Take the Jung Typology assessment online. Score your answers and save your results.
By Day 3 of Week 8
In 1-2 paragraphs, share what the experience was like to be asked the questions in the
Mini Mental State Exam.
Describe what it was like to answer the questions, your thoughts as you went through the
exam, and how you reflected on your final MMSE score.
What was it like to take the Jung assessment online? Do you feel that it describes you?
What insights did you gain in terms of how it felt to be assessed?
How do you imagine clients may react?
