It is important to understand the meaning of a
special events department, an events officer, or
an organizing group before looking at event
planning
An event is something that ‘happens’ not just
‘exist’.
Somebody has to make it happen.
One of the key steps in making it happen is to
identify all the tasks which have to be
accomplished, and all of them need to be fulfilled
for a successful event to occur. 2
