Everybody enjoyed it.
Everybody who came to the party enjoyed it.
a clause is a part of sentence
A relative clause tells us more about a person or a thing using a relative pronoun
PERSON: WHO/THAT (+ whose)
THING: THAT/WHICH
THE BASICS
,WHO = people
,WHICH = things
Also: that (= spoken language, never a comma!)
WHOSE = van wie/wiens (possessive)
WHERE = places
Leaving out the relative pronoun
When who/that/which is the object
e.g.: The woman –who- I wanted to see was away.
The dress –that- Lisa bought doesn’t fit her well.
The man who talks a lot is my father.
can’t omit the relative pronoun
