Describe the similarities and differences between the fetal pig heart and the sheep heart. Pig and sheep, like other mammals, have four-chambered hearts. The heart is used to purify the blood as blood circulates in the body. Differences The main difference between the two hearts of these mammals is that fetal pig heart is minor compared to the sheep heart. The sheep heart's left ventricle wall is thicker than the fetal pig heart. Similarities The main similarity between these two hearts is that the fetal pig heart and the sheep's heart consist of two sections that act as pumps (left chamber and the right chamber, comprised of two atria, and two ventricles). Also, both hearts have linked blood vessels; capillaries, arteries, and veins that transport blood in and out of the upper ventricles. These are sections of the two chambers that receive oxygenated blood so as when it's pumped goes out through the other upper chamber to the rest of the body. Running Head: HEART DISSECTION 3 b. Describe the four valves of the heart, including their name, location, and function Tricuspid Valve The tricuspid valve permits blood to run from the right atrium (above) into the right ventricle when the heart is calming during diastole. It is positioned linking the right atrium and the right ventricle. Aortic valve The aortic valve examination from the outflow part, i.e., from the aorta, blood streams up all the way through the valve from the left ventricle, pushing the cusps out of the system. Two of the three cusps are noticeable in this sight. It is situated among the left ventricle and the aorta. Mitral valve The mitral valve stops blood from flowing rear into the left atrium in a reduction of the myocardium (systole). It is located in the middle of the left ventricle and the aorta. If the mitral valve is not functioning accurately, it may stop blood from flowing into the ventricle (called stenosis), or it may let blood to flow reluctantly into the atrium
