The writer’s purpose is to inform, educate, and relay information about attention deficit hyperactive disorder, the effect of it on families, treatment, data and statistics about the disorder, and where and how to get help for this disorder.
3.Who is the intended audience?
The intended audience is essentially the entire population of the world but more specifically, parents, caregivers, grandparents, siblings, or anyone wanting information and resources of how this disorder works, treatments and the effects it may have on the patient and family unit.
8.Do you feel that the website is effective? Why or why not?
I feel that this website is very effective because of the use of the appeals of pathos, logos and ethos. This site uses this rhetoric of appeals to convince the audience to action. The site is effective because of all the information that it presents, the site is credible as it is monitored by the federal government and provides scholarly resources, the site is also laid out in a logical way and it is easy for the reader to follow. A picture of a happy family is also included on the page which implies that if you are not alone in managing this disorder and that emotional health and well-being are attainable.
