This piece of homework relates to your assignment assessment;
specific to grading criterion listed below: -
 P4: Describe the legal issues an organization must consider in using business information.
Your Homework Direction - Report
The Importance of Understanding the Legal Issues and Ethical Implications on Business
Organizations
You must: Prepare an introduction to the report which describes and recognizes the legal
constraints associated with how organizations use information.
-A numerous of issues can arise which are related to how organizations use information, there
are key areas which must be covered in order for a business to operate appropriately, examples
of these areas can include ethical issue, legal issues and legal constraints. These issues can have
a huge impact on how an organization operates for example a business must follow and
operate within a law which is a legal issue for a business, in other terms it also effects how
companies can produce their stock, for example it is considered to be unethical to cage and use
caged chicken meat in burgers. A fast-food organization such as KFC must consider finding a
alternative solution like purchasing free range chickens in order to ensure customers can
consider them as an ethically trading business and purchase their food.
Student Action: Compose a paragraph which defines why it is important for a business
organization to be aware of operationally implementing legal policies, procedures and
standards for stakeholders, employees, customers, suppliers and competitors.
-It is very important for an organization to be aware of being able to implement the legal
policies and procedures because company policies are created to establish expectations and
help to provide resolutions on how to handle workplace situations. The policies provide
direction on what is appropriate as well as inappropriate or unacceptable behavior. Another
reason to why company policies is important is because it helps to maintain order within the
organization and ensure everyone being treated fairly and equality.

-Obtaining stakeholders support is vital to ensure that stakeholders carry out the policies and
ensure adherence to the policies are not consulted prior to the implementation of the policy.
Once the policy has been drafted, it will be important to communicate for example meetings, e-
mails and teleconferences with managers and supervisors who will be expected to apply the
policy. This communication should include why the new policy (or revision) is needed, address
the impact the policy will have on the stakeholder's areas and address any potential thoughts
or concerns the stakeholders may have. Considerations from these meetings will lead to any
necessary revisions before legal counsel conducts its final policy review.
- Organizations should give employees background information when possible as to why the
policy is being implemented. Employees should be given enough details to make the
organization's position clear while keeping the communications process short and simple.
Employers can determine the best approach to introduce the policy to employees based on the
nature, sensitivity and ease in which the policy will be understood. Employers should
incorporate a communication method that will give employees an opportunity to ask questions
about the policy. The policy should consist of an acknowledgment statement indicating the
employee's receipt and understanding of the new policy along with the effective date of the
policy. The policy should contain space for the employee's signature and date. It should also be
added to the organization's employee handbook or intranet and included in new-hire
orientation programs as appropriate. Employers should notify employees where they can
access the policy later for instance links to intranet site, attachment of policy to print and add
to their employee handbook.
-it is important for organizations to ensure that customer service policies are placed into a
written document that employees follow when dealing with customers who are not satisfied
with company's products or services. It also lists that how employees should behave so as to
improve the overall experience for customers. Customer service policies also promote a good
working environment to do this, employers have to motivate staff so that they can provide a
good working environment for others and show that they are positive about the company
customer service and doing all of this will increase cost efficiency by rising customer.
-Competitor's policy refers to government policy to preserve or promote competition among
market players and to promote other government policies and processes that enable a
competitive environment to develop. Competition policy has two major instruments.
Competition policy seeks to encourage and improve the competitive process, and to ensure
consumers feel the benefits of that process. These aims are achieved in practice through
competition law.
-The supplier's policies are introduced by a organization, the code of conduct sets out the
minimum requirements regarding fair and safe labor and environmental practices that
manufacturers, suppliers, and other vendors must meet to sell goods to or do business with the
retailer.
