Explain why you chose each method
Powerpoint
I chose to use PowerPoint to present the newsletter because it is an effective way of
conveying important information. Powerpoints are a good way of keeping audience focus
because it is visual and the information is being spoken to them. They also allows people to ask
questions after, which can ensure the information is properly understood, and therefore
successfully communicated. Whilst they don’t allow for as much information to be put across as
in newsletters, it is a good way to highlight the most important and necessary information, and a
handout of the powerpoint can be given out after so staff can go over the information again after
if needed.
Poster
Posters are a good way to quickly put across information, such as key points. A poster allows
people to see the updates that are included in the newsletter, and find out where to find more
information on each update if they need or want to. However, this does mean people may not
look up the extra information if needed, but posters are eye grabbing and easy to read,
therefore staff are likely to look over everything on there.
Leaflet
I chose to make a leaflet to convey the information because it is a good mix of a poster and
newsletter. It is eye grabbing and easy to read, like a poster, but is able to hold more
information in it, like a newsletter. They would be easy to give out to staff, and the headers at
the top of each part of the leaflet make it easy for staff to find the information which applies to
them, as well letting staff know where to find any extra information if required.
