NR507 Advanced Pathophysiology

Professor and class
As an advanced pathophysiology course, this class was a handful. This online based class was very
informative and interactive. The bringing together of students from several different disciplines added to
the lively discussions of diseases and new technologies used to treat these diseases. My experience as a
school nurse helped me relate to the advances in treating patients with childhood diseases. I was
amazed at the technology and equipment used to help patients in intensive care units around the states.
It has been quite a while since I was in a pathophysiology class but the interaction and sharing of
knowledge from diverse and experienced nurses was very educational. I learned of the number of
websites that provide very useful information about laboratory values. The information provided in this
class was very informative. This course helped to prepare me for the rigors of graduate instruction and

increased my knowledge of pathophysiology, as well as to be more objective as to how I view disease

develop the information learned to evaluate and analyze how the cascade of events unfold and how

Nursing leadership within health systems is required to design and ensure the delivery of clinical

illness, and prevents disease. Acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to meet this demand is
essential for nursing practice ( Allanetal, 2005).

how this class has opened our eyes to the unique diversities in the population that we will experience as
a FNP.
