We will be discussing Network and Infrasturcture problems dealing with Company A and Company B.
 Network Problems
 Company A
 When you don’t enforce regular password changes, you run the risk of users not
changing properly what would be a weak password, users will tend to keep the same
password because it’s one that they remembered and just add a number or symbol
at the end of the password making it easier for someone to compromised the
system
 Company A
 Company A having all its users use 8 characters for a password, is asking for trouble.
 "We've long known that passwords are vulnerable to brute force cracking attempts.
Recent advancements in automation and hardware have made these attacks all the
more accessible for today's cybercriminals." (Betanews,2023)

Because with our current CPU strength a 8 character password can be
(Betanews,2023)
Brute Forced in minutes or in a couple hours and when that happens your company is
now compromised. When your password length is between 12 – 16+ characters you
lower your risk of having a Brute Force preformed on you, lowering your chance of
being compromised

 Company B
 How many times have you been told or read that you should always use strong
passwords? And yet we still have weak password problems. (JSCAPE, 2025) For
Company B dealing with FTP (File Transfer Protocol) can be a problem, especially on
a FTP server, company B has a FTP Brute Force login reporting problem – which
means that malicious hackers have been attacking the servers trying to get access to
the FTP servers, because the FTP server have reported a high amount of people
trying to log with false credentials.
 Company B
 Multi-factor authentication (MFA) could be considered a secondary line of defense,
if your first line of defense (User name and Password) has been compromised. The
2024 Cybersecurity Threat Report highlights that “the implementation of MFA can
prevent 99.9% of automated cyberattacks” (Microsoft, 2024). Phishing and Social
Engineering have proven that the old way of protecting your systems and users with
just a password can be very dangerous, hackers can/will take advantage if your
company if they ignores not enforcing MFA across their systems.
